ABSTRACT

Objective:This study aims to provide scientific evidence for scientific iodine supplementation through monitoring the iodine nutrition status of children aged 8 - 10 and pregnant women in Haikou City. Methods:From 2016 to 2020, monitoring sites were selected in Longhua, Meilan, Qiongshan and Xiuying districts of Haikou City according to the requirements of the "Hainan Iodine Deficiency Disorders Monitoring Program". The iodine contents of drinking water, household edible salt and urinary iodine contents of children aged 8 - 10 and pregnant women were determined and analyzed. Results:The median iodine content of 388 drinking water samples was 5.60 μg/L, the median salt iodine content of 6 000 household edible salt samples was 25.70 mg/kg, the coverage rate of iodized salt was 98.65% (5 919/6 000), the qualified rate of iodized salt was 98.36% (5 822/5 919) and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt was 97.03% (5 822/6 000). The median urinary iodine content of 4 000 children aged 8 - 10 was 181.68 μg/L and the median urinary iodine content of 2 000 pregnant women was 130.70 μg/L.Conclusions:The external environment of Haikou is iodine deficient. The iodine nutrition of children is generally in an appropriate state, and that of pregnant women is generally insufficient. While implementing the salt iodization policy, we should strengthen the monitoring of iodine nutrition among people and spreading iodine nutrition knowledge among residents, providing classified guidance and scientific iodine supplementation, so as to achieve the goal of continuous elimination of iodine deficiency disorders.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore nursing points on the enteral nutrition support to batched patients with severe burn caused by explosion. Method An enteral nutrition support was carried out for 15 patients with severe burns admitted in our department and pertinent nursing was performed. Results Five patients died because of lack of autologous skin sources and complications of sepsis in 45~87 d after burn. Ten patients got a good recovery after enteral nutrition support, anti-infection treatment and nursing. They lived through the infection period, went into the recovery period. The hospital stay of these patients in ICU was 54~115 d with an average of (90.63 ± 30.37)d. Conclusion Early enteral nutrition support and nursing to the patients with severe burn can improve the nutritional status of patients effectively and promote the rehabilitation of patients.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo provide an easy computational tool for evaluating the health condition of local residents.

METHODSAn abridged life table was programmed by applying mathematical functions and formula in Excel program and tested with the real study data to evaluate the results computed.

RESULTSThe Excel was capable of computing group death probability of age in the life table ((n)q(x)), number of survivors (l(x)), number of death ((n)d(x)), survival per person-year ((n)L(x)), survival total per person-year (T(x)) and life expectancy (e(x)). The calculated results were consistent with those by SAS.

CONCLUSIONThe abridged life table constructed using Microsoft Excel can conveniently and accurately calculate the relevant indices for evaluating the health condition of the residents.

ABSTRACT

Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and fiber tracking (FT) may show structural information about white matter fiber. With development of technology, the applications of the DTI and FT are widely used in spinal cord. DTI and FT are more sensitive than traditional MRI on detecting spinal cord lesions, able to provide more evidence for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis before treatment, as well as the evaluation for the prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Objective Use MRS technology to detect in vivo Glx concentration of Zelanian rabbits' muscle. Methods Tweenty Zelanian rabbits are collected,SS-PRESS sequence is applied to check their Signal Ratio of Glx/TCr.After deta collection, draw blood and do the biopsy of the FOV's muscle tissue immediately.Mensurate the rabbits' blood Crn concentration,Glx and TCr concentration in muscle.Research the correlation between the above factors, attempt using the MRS Glx/TCr Signal Ratio and blood Crn concentration to predict muscular Glx concentration. Results The correlation between MRS Glx/TCr Peak Ratio and muscular Glx/blood Crn concentration ratio is 0.681.A linear regression formula is obtained: The predict Value of Glx concentration in muscle(?mol/g muscle)= Glx/TCr Peak Ratio ? Crn concentration in blood(mg/dl)?28.754-0.631.Conclusion Using a linear regression formula to predict the muscular Glx concentration, the results can reflect the level of the true values without biopsy, though it's not accurate enough for quantitatively analysis.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the changes of the number of circulating endothelial cells (CEC) and blood lipid level in critically ill patients and their clinical significance. Methods The CECs were separated by using isopyknic centrifugation method and blood lipid level was determined in 35 critically ill patients and 20 healthy controls. CEC number and blood lipid level were compared between the two groups. And the correlation of CEC number and blood lipid level was analyzed. Clinical data from the critically ill patients was evaluated with acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ; the correlation analysis of APACHEⅡscore, CEC number and blood lipid level was made. Results CEC number in the critically ill patients was significantly higher than that in healthy controls(P
